About Sarita Benavides, LPC Associate

“Life comes from physical survival, but the good life comes from what we care about.”
— Rollo May

I help clients explore what’s on their minds, set meaningful goals, and find realistic ways to reach them without losing sight of what matters most. Together, we’ll build healthier ways to cope and a more flexible mindset to handle life’s ups and downs.

Life can get overwhelming, and it’s OK to need support. I offer a warm, inclusive space where you feel heard, respected, and truly supported. I believe the best therapy is one where a strong and trusting relationship that feels like the right fit for you fuels the exploration of your journey. I welcome people from all backgrounds with a compassionate approach, honoring your unique journey as we work toward meaningful growth together.

What I do:

It’s not always easy to find a space where you can truly be yourself. That’s what led me to this work, to create a warm, welcoming place where people feel seen, heard, and supported. Through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, I walk alongside each person, focusing on personal values, achievable goals, and what’s already working, helping them move toward their fullest potential.

“Discovering the truth about ourselves is a lifetime’s work, but it’s worth the effort.”

― Fred Rogers

I work with kids, teens, and adults, and I’m especially passionate about supporting marginalized communities. I strive to create a warm, judgment-free space where your story matters. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, build resilience, and reconnect with your authentic self.

Education & Training:

I’m a Houston native with a passion for mental health and a love for all things creative and unique. I began my journey at Sam Houston State, earning a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. Over the years, I’ve worked in communities, schools, and private practice settings, experiences that deepened my understanding of both child and adult mental health and fueled my passion for advocacy. That passion led me to earn my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston – Clearlake.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me exploring nature, diving into Houston’s festivals and museums, or hunting for antiques and hidden coffee spots. I’m a horror movie fan, a big believer in the power of creativity, and I treasure traveling and making memories with loved ones.
