Seeking out therapeutic services is a big deal! It can be a challenge to find someone you feel safe with to share challenging emotions and discuss difficult experiences. I allow a safe space for many emotions, opinions, and presenting problems. I desire to aid you in learning effective communication, coping skills, constructive problem-solving, and foster healthy relationships.
Awareness is one of the biggest proponents of change.
A huge factor in therapy is building a therapeutic relationship with your therapist. I am a firm believer that you are the expert and I am here to lend my therapeutic knowledge and skills to develop a new understanding for you.
I have had the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages, and it is important to me that I consider the individual as well as societal impacts that affect my clients, especially members of vulnerable populations. I enjoy working with adults of both sexes in individual therapy, and specialize in couple counseling. Many couples are committed to their relationships, but may lack communication skills, outside knowledge, alternatives, problem solving skills, and many other factors. I would like to be a guiding factor in gaining insight on presenting problems, develop a deeper understanding, increase empathy for each other, and aid you in your relationship to create the change you seek.
In addition to couples counseling, I am deeply passionate about working with individuals who are struggling with their body image. It can be daunting to face societal standards as well as media messaging about health, food, and weight. I understand how detrimental these experiences can be and how impactful they are on our mental health. I want to help you navigate through the complexities of struggling with body image, and begin to heal your relationship with your body.
Concerns that my clients and I work together to address include:
- Suicidal Ideation
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Communication
- Self-Esteem
- Relational Conflict
- Trauma
- Stress/Burnout
- Body Image

Education & Training
I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and am currently being supervised by Lauren L. Barron, Ph.D. I use a systemic approach that focuses on how an individual’s personal relationships, behavior patterns, and life circumstances are interconnected with the issues the client is currently facing. I have experience using the Gottman theory for couples/relational issues, solution-focused therapy, collaborative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as tools to aid clients to achieve their goals.
I was born and raised here in Houston. I am in a long-term interabled relationship that has taught me a lot about the disability community and the importance of advocacy as well as education on vulnerable populations. I enjoy a variety of self-care activities, including painting my nails, coloring, watching comfort shows, cuddling with my furbaby, and spending time on myself in the morning when I do my makeup and drink my coffee in peace. Through my knowledge as a therapist, I have also learned about internal self-care like setting boundaries, increasing self-esteem, and learning emotion management.
