Everyone has the ability to grow.

No matter what is going on in your life – if you do the work and use the skills, you will see real, lasting change. I chose to become a mental health professional to help people become their fullest, best selves. What I love most is having the opportunity to be a part of people’s journeys. It is a privilege to be their guide.

What I do:

I work with adults, adolescents, families and couples on a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, family conflict, parenting and life transitions, domestic violence, and suicidality and crisis intervention.

I prefer to use evidence-basedapproaches, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I have extensive training in Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), Motivational Interview and HOPE suicide prevention for crime victims advocacy.

I also provide immigration evaluations.

Education & Training

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio and my Bachelor’s with a minor in Psychology and Mental Health from the University of Puerto Rico. I also completed internships at UTMB’s Pediatric Clinic in Galveston and The Lakes at Texas City Nursing Home. I have worked in the mental health field since 2011 in various roles such as case manager, director of residential services, and trauma counselor.

I’ve recently completed a rigorous training for Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). This approach works by reprogramming the way distressing memories are stored within our brains in order to reduce the amount of emotional and physical reactions. ART is used to treat trauma and PTSD.
